I have returned...

Well, what can I say I am a procrastinator! Sometimes its all or nothing. I get these waves where I want to do all our tasks when I have the spare time. Anywho... I hope you have a cup of coffee and a piece of chocolate this post might be long... Here goes:

Library 2.0 + the future
I feel this is a great advancement for all libraries. This can serve as an outlet for patrons and library staff to have a forum on books, topics, even online book discussions. This can even help with online study groups. The best thing about this is that you can do this all from home so it doesn't matter if there is a blizzard outside or if its too hot to do anything! The wiki's are great but since it can be edited by anyone it should not be used as a source it should be taken more as a point in the direction you need to go. Personally, I love wikipedia. :0)

Online Productivity Tools
I LOVE THIS! This is the smartest thing ever! I wish I would have known about this before. If you buy a laptop the software is usually not included in the purchase. I don't know but for college students they may not have the extra $100-150 to buy Microsoft Office. This is great...assuming people who don't have Microsoft have Internet access...

Web 2.0 Awards List
This is neat! Its cool, I am always on the Internet and use many of the services we have discovered along this journey already but its pretty funny that some of my favorite websites aren't amongst the top 3 in the category.

You Tube
The scary thing about you tube is you never know when you will end up on it. My best friend recorded her mother while she was doing the dishes and put the video on you tube! Needless to say the video didn't stay up there long!

Podcasts
Podcasts are really cool. You can listen to a history lecture while you are working out. Who knew you can get smart and fit at the same time. Ok, for all you ipod users...did you know that downloading podcasts from itunes is FREE??? Maybe I am a dork and just discovered this a few years after having an ipod but I figured I would pass the tip allong.

Bon Voyage
So our journey is over. Just because the initial steps are over doesnt mean its goodbye forever. We now know about 100 different ways to communicate with each other...there's no excuse for not keeping in touch.... Its been really fun.... Who knows, maybe I will keep up with this blog now....

Technology...

I will admit that all the things we can do online are cool. I do have one frustrating factor... I really dont like you have to register for everything and end up with a few username and passwords...Granted you can use the same information...but still...lol
